Procedure

1. An application for recording a change in the residence in the certificate of registration of a motor vehicle is required to be made by the owner of the vehicle in Form 33 accompanied by the certificate of registration and proof of address and the appropriate fee.
2. After making sure you have all the documents that are listed under Required Documents section except the application form, you would have to approach the Registering Authority who will process the change of address for you.

1. To change address for vehicles, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
2. In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
3. The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
4. Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
5. The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
6. Please follow the steps to complete the application.

Every owner of Motor Vehicle shall cause the Vehicle to be Registered by a Registrating Authority in whose Jurisdiction he has residence or place of business where the vehicle is normally kept.
