  1. Residential properties in Haryana are liable to pay property tax to the Municipal Corporation which is regulated by the Department of Directorate of Urban Local Bodies of Haryana.
  2. Both Residential, Commercial, industrial, institutional, government Properties and vacant land situated within the limits of MC are assessed for Tax and all those assessed are expected to pay the Property Tax.
  3. Property Tax is assessed once every five years whereas supplementary assessment is made every year and citizen may object to assessment.
  4. The tax for the assessment year shall be paid by the 31st of July of that particular year.
  5. The first installment can be paid by 30th April and second installment by 30th October every year.
  6. Property tax can be paid both Online as well as offline method
  7. Anyone undervaluing the property would be penalized.
  8. In case of late payments done by the taxpayer, the interest at the rate of 1.5% per month will be charged.

Apply through Paytm

  1. To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to download the app from the following link – link
  2. The applicant has to click the “Municipality payment”.
  3. The applicant has to select the respective corporation from the list.
  4. The applicant has to enter the property ID and other minor details and then click the “Get Tax Amount” button.
  5. Now the amount will be displayed on the screen and click the “Proceed to pay” button.
  6. The applicant has to select the payment method.
  7. Enter the payment details and click the “Pay” button.
  8. The applicant can check the payment summary after the payment gets successful.
  9. The processing time for this procedure completes within a few minutes.



Apply In-Person

  1. As a first step one has to get the assessment for the property if the assessment from respective authorities is not provided.
  2. One can get the details of property tax amount to be paid from respective municipal office. Link for municipal office: Link for municipal office contacts
  3. In the given link please select ULB menu and choose respective option to get contact detail of the area required.
  4. Go to the respective municipal office and submit the property id along with other required documents to the assessing officer. Once the officer confirms the amount, he will announce the same to the applicant.
  5. Applicant can submit the details and pay the advised property tax to the counter staff.
  6. After receiving the tax amount, an acknowledgement will be given to the applicant for the tax paid.

Apply Online:

  1. Please make sure you have the property id to pay property tax
  2. In order to pay property tax through the online portal, one has to visit the online portal. Please use the following link: Online portal link
  3. In the given page, please select the applicable option from the drop down menu for “mc type” and proceed to enter / select other details prompted for. Once the filling of required details are completed, please hit on ”Search Property” option to reach the next page.
  4. Now, the applicant will be able to view the property tax generated for the respective property ID.
  5. If the presented details are OK, then click on “Pay property tax” to pay the tax online.
  6. Applicant will be redirected to the payment gateway (Credit / Debit / Net banking) page to proceed with the payment. Please select and fill appropriate details and hit respective tab to complete online payment of the tax
  7. After making the payment, the applicant will receive the acknowledgement number as the confirmation of payment. Please save it for future reference

Apply through CSC

  1. To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to approach the nearest CSC centre – link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select a state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centers.
  2. The applicant has to visit the centre and submit the tax pay invoice to an operator.
  3. The officer will check the details on the computer.
  4. Followed by, the applicant can pay the amount to the officer by cash or online transaction.
  5. Once the payment process for the property tax is completed, the applicant will get a successful payment receipt from the officer.
  6. The processing time for this procedure completes within a day.

  • The property tax amount is calculated based on the residential area. So, it varies from one property type to other.
  • Property tax for a building is calculated based on
    • Basement area
    • The rate prevalent in the street where the property is located
    • Usage of the building (residential or non-residential access)
    • Type of occupancy (owner or tenant)
    • The total span of the building’s existence.

ValidityEdit

The property tax paid is valid for one year. Every year, you should renew it. (In certain place the tax will be collected for six months too)

  • Property tax or 'house tax' is a local tax imposed on owners of an apartment, land and building by the Government. The governing authority of the jurisdiction levies the tax to the owner in which the property is located.
  • Property tax clearance is required for most of other service like Water, Sanitary, Electricity connection etc.
  • Owners of residential properties are liable to pay property tax to respective department on a specified period of time and has to be paid regularly (period can be 6 months or one year in respect to the state).
  • Tax Exemption is applicable for selected citizens / organizations (Educational Institutions, Charitable institutions, Ex-serviceman / In-service man, retired pensioners association, NGO Homes/Teachers Association Buildings) as applicable.
