Procedure

Residents of Gujarat could get a new Drainage or Sewer connection through the following procedure.

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a drainage or sewer connection, one has to visit the concerned Zonal Municipal Council office of your area. (Please refer “Office locations and contacts” section)
2. Before applying, please consult with the concerned authority regarding all the requirements necessary for getting a new drainage connection.
3. Procure the application form for sewerage connection by paying the required fee.
4. You could also download the forms from the links given in the “Documents” section of this page.
5. In the procured application form, fill all the required details.
6. Attach the photocopy of all the required documents with the application form.
7. Submit the documents at the concerned Zonal Municipal Council Office and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
8. The documents will be verified and if the application is eligible, the applicant will be notified to pay the charges. Rejected applications will be returned to the applicant with intimation.
9. Pay the service charges as instructed and register your connection and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
10. Obtain permission for road cutting from the respective department if required.
11. Your application will now be forwarded to the concerned area officer for sanction.
12. Site inspections will be made by the authority officers and any correction regarding the application will be notified to the applicant.
13. After all the requirements and changes have been met by the applicant, the work order will be issued for the connection.

Apply for Drainage (Sewer) Connection Online with Images

1. Residents of Ahmedabad could apply online for a drainage or sewer connection, through the Apply Online
2. Click on login button. New page will open. Login with your details or if you are a new user, register a new account by selecting, “New User?” and fill your details and click on submit.
3. Now log in with your credentials.
4. From the “Online Services” drop down menu, select > Online Services with Login>engineering department>Apply for Water & Drainage Connection.
5. Fill all the required details in the displayed application form.
6. Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.
7. Check for any corrections to be made before submitting the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
8. Pay the required processing fee for which you will receive the online receipt.
9. After successful submission of your application, you will receive the acknowledgement message through sms or e-mail.
10. Your application will be further and necessary site inspections will be made with intimation.
11. Please keep the required documents ready during site inspection.
12. After all the requirements and changes have been met by the applicant, the connection will be provided.

Generally required documents for Drainage connection:

• Ownership Certificate / Land property document
• Plan of the building, sanctioned by local authority
• Property Tax Assessment Number.
• Road Cutting Endorsement / receipt (If required)
• Proof of having paid taxes / charges up to date
• Affidavit as required.
• Address proof and Id proof of the applicant from the following:

• Driving Licence
• Ration card
• Voter ID
• PAN Card

• Building and internal plumbing works have to be completed.
• Water Tax should have been paid up to date.
