Apply In-Person:
- To Renew for Provisional clearance of Pesticides in person, the applicant has to approach the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) office. Contact link
- The Renewal of provisional clearance of pesticides is done annually and it expire on every December 31 of each year and must be renewed by the registrant for continued sales, distribution or use and must be renewed one month before expiration date.
- Applicant has to approach the environmental protection agency in Ghana and applicant can get their application form.
- Read through the application form carefully as it contains different section.
- Make sure that his/her have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per as authority’s request.
- Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the EPA office for verification and processing.
- If all the above mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their license.
- After getting the notification from concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to collect their renewal license.
- If there is no information regarding the application, then, the applicant can visit the office to know status of the application.
- The Processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

- Complete the pesticide annual report form (if you had not submitted pesticides annual report)
- Copy of Employee relevant certificates
- Evidence of payment of the prescribe fee(bank slip)
- Copy of certificate any pesticide handling training you or your business received/attended within the past 12 months.
- Citizens need to be in possession of a valid national identity card copy.
- Companies need to be in possession of a valid company's registration certificate copy.
- Copy of the initial pesticide license
- any other documents that may be requested by the EPA

- All fees charged are payable at any ECOBANK Ghana Branch by presenting the invoice issued by the Agency to the bank.
- When submitting any supporting documents, please label the documents as indicated in this part. (e.g. Attachment A, etc.)
- If the space provided on the application form is not sufficient, additional information required may be provided on a separate document and attached.

- Full name, address, age and qualification of persons who will be in personal control of premises.
- Describe the premises at which the activity will be undertaken, including details of security precautions, adjacent land use, size, type of structure etc.
- Describe the storage and/ or display facilities for the above-named pesticides.
- Describe any other types of goods which will be stored or displayed on the same premises
- Describe safety precautions to be taken for protection of persons and public
- What disposal options do you have in place for used and/or empty containers
Need for the DocumentEdit
- Drug manufacturers, chemical manufacturers, growers, and food processors owe consumers a particular duty of care to produce food and other consumer products that are safe and will not cause public health concerns.
- They also need to take part in safe practices for the growing of products so that environmental concerns, such as contamination, do not develop. Because of this they are required by law to renew their Provisional clearance of Pesticides every year.
