Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Student pilot license in Ghana, the applicant has to contact the nearest Civil Aviation Authority Office in Ghana.

3. The   applicant   shall   submit a written application together with one passport size photograph and pay the prescribed fee and shall complete an application form.
4. Make sure that all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page are available.
5. Fill the application form provided in the office after understanding the guidelines properly.
6. The license requirements are determined by the GCAA.
7. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
8. Submit the application with necessary attachments to the office.
9. Approved applicants will be allowed for training with the license.
10. Upon the completion of training, there will be an exam that will allow the holder to sustain the license.
11. The exam will be conducted by the aviation authority and the passing of the test is necessary to get the license.
12. The appointment of the exam can be booked on the following portal with an email address.
13. When the exam is conducted successfully, the application will be eligible to keep the license after training.
14. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, a provisional certificate will be accessible.
15. The applicant gets the license in a stipulated period of time.

Required Documents

• Application form
• Documents relating to proof of age, date of birth, full name and nationality. (Copies of these documents must be legible and will be certified by licensing staff as true copies of the original. Where a document is printed in a language other than English, the applicant must provide a notarized translation).
• Two recent photographs (approximately 2 cm by 2.5cm) taken from the same negative (full face).
• Medical Certificate from authorized Civil Aviation Medical examiner.
• All personal flying Log Book(s) and/or ATO records, its entries certified by the relevant.Authorities e.g. Chief Flight Instructor, Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, etc.
• Evidence of qualification to meet the requirement for the issue/renewal of the license.
• Payment receipt of the prescribed fees.
