Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To register as a Medical Practitioner or Dental Doctor in Fiji, you must apply in Fiji Medical & Dental Secretariat. Contacts
2. While applying in-person, you should be obtain the application form from the authorities in the Fiji Medical & Dental Secretariat office or else you can also download it from the website. Application form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form must be filled with necessary details.
5. The evidence of payment must be emailed to [email protected] and attached with the application form.
6. After that, the application must be submitted at the Secretariat office, or should be sent via post to the Fiji Medical & Dental Secretariat.
7. The application form will be forwarded to the Fiji Medical & Dental Council.
8. The Medical Practitioner or Dental Doctor Registration approval takes more than 30 days.
9. After verifying the application, the Fiji Medical & Dental Council will approve the registration.
10. Once Council approves your application, please pay the Annual Registration fee.
11. Finally, the applicant will be issued with the “Annual Practising Certificate”.

Required Documents

• Certified copy of Basic qualification and other qualification gained.
• Recent coloured passport photo. (Not more than a month old)
• Certificate of “good standing” from the Medical/Dental Registration authority, If you practised outside of Fiji in the previous year; dated not more than 3 months before the date of application.
• Copies of Valid Practising License from your country of residence. (Only for overseas applicants)
• Work Permit. (Non- Fiji citizen)
• Evidence of Professional Indemnity.
• Completed documentation of “Continuing Professional Development – CPD” signed by Department Supervisor or Certificates Attained.
• Copies of Provisional Offer of Appointments. (Place of Practise)
• Fee payment proof.

Eligibility

The Fiji Medical and Dental Council will determine the eligibility for registration.

Fees

• Application fee Registration – Resident - $20
• Application fee Registration – Non-resident - $100
• Medical / Dental Practitioners in Government Services (Practice License Fee) - $200
• Medical / Dental Practitioners in Private Practice (Practice License Fee) - $200
• Vocational Registration – Medical / Dental Practitioners (Practice License Fee) - $300
• Dental Therapist/ Dental Hygienist/ Dental Technician (Practice License Fee) - $50
  

Fee Details:

• The preferred mode of payment by Fiji Medical & Dental Council is
• Transfer Credit on our ANZ Account * 10737532
• EFTPOS (at Secretariat-Charges may apply)
• CHEQUE
• The Cheque payment should be made in the name of “Secretariat of the Fiji Medical & Dental Councils”.
• Also, if you want to make direct payment, you should add your details in the payer section (Practitioners Registration Number & Name) & deposit the fee in ANZ Account * 10737532.
  

Validity

The Medical Practitioner and Dental Doctor registration is valid for one year. The registration should be renewed annually.
