Apply through app:

  1. To Send Money with TELEBIRR, the applicant has to use the following link to download the app link
  2. The applicant has to click the “Install” button to download the app.
  3. Click on the "Sign Up" or "Register" button within the app to create a new account.
  4. The applicant will be asked to provide his/her personal information, including the applicant’s name, phone number, and email address. Follow the prompts and enter the required information accurately.
  5. After providing his/her phone number during the registration process, the applicant will receive an SMS verification code. Enter the code in the app to verify his/her phone number.
  6. Create a four-digit PIN to secure the applicant’s TELEBIRR account.
  7. This PIN will be required for authentication and accessing the applicant’s account in the future. Make sure to choose a secure PIN that the applicant can remember.
  8. Within the TELEBIRR app, the applicant will have the option to link the bank account to his/her TELEBIRR wallet. This will allow the applicant to transfer funds between his/her bank account and TELEBIRR wallet. Follow the instructions provided in the app to link his/her bank account securely.
  9. In the TELEBIRR app, locate and select the "Send Money" or "Money Transfer" option. This may be located in the main menu or on the app's home screen.
  10. Provide the necessary details of the recipient to whom the applicant wants to send money. This typically includes their TELEBIRR phone number, which serves as their account identifier. Ensure that the recipient's TELEBIRR account is active and verified.
  11. Specify the amount of money the applicant wishes to send to the recipient. Double-check the amount to ensure accuracy.
  12. Review the transaction details, including the recipient's information and the transfer amount. Make any necessary corrections, if applicable. Once the applicant is certain in the details are accurate, confirm the transaction.
  13. For security purposes, the applicant will be prompted to enter his/her TELEBIRR PIN to authorize the money transfer.
  14. Once the applicant has entered his/her PIN and confirmed the transfer, the money will be deducted from his/her TELEBIRR wallet or linked bank account and sent to the recipient's TELEBIRR account. The applicant may receive a transaction confirmation or reference number for his/her records.
  15. The processing time for this procedure is complete within 10 minutes.
