Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew Horticulture Produce Marketing Agent registration the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Agriculture in Ethiopia.location link
2. Applicant has to get the application form for renewal from the respective office.
3. Applicant must provide all necessary information in the application form.
4. Make sure you have all the documents mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies along with the application form.
6. Submit the application form to the respective authority.
7. Fee for this procedure as to be as per the authority request.
8. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the board will issue the license within 30days.

Required Documents

• Copy of current horticulture produce and marketing agent certificate
• Returns of horticultural produce dealt with in the previous year
• Duly filled application form
• Two coloured passport photos
• Copies of identification cards/ passport of applicant.
• Tax compliance certificate from Ethiopia Revenue Authority (KRA) for the Company
• Proof of Basic knowledge on Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and produce post-harvest handling practices
• Proof of Demonstration technical expertise (trained and experienced personnel) on knowledge on horticulture produce.
• Name of Dealer/Exporter/Supermarket/Processor/Hotels
• Farming Contracts per Scheme or per the individual farmer where produce is sourced from farmers
• Copy of Production/supply Schedule
• Proof of access to horticulture produce handling facilities (attach pack house inspection report)
• Proof of access to appropriate transport facility (attach transport inspection report)
• Proof of access to appropriate post-harvest handling containers
• Compliance with Statutory requirements, including but not limited to Safety & Occupational Health Certificate and Local Authority Business Permit.
• A certified copy of a comprehensive insurance cover from a reputable firm proportionate to volume of produce handled as per insurance valuation.
• Compliance with minimum specifications as required by Ethiopia Bureau of Standards
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.

Eligibility

Any person, cooperative society, group or company holding horticultural produce marketing agent in Ethiopia is eligible to renew their license after expiry or before a month or week of expiry.

Fees

Application fee is 1000birr.

Validity

The renewed license validity is for one year.
