Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain a Coffee Grower Marketer License in Ethiopia the person should approach Ethiopian coffee and Tea authority contact link or the applicant should contact Ministry of agriculture location link
2. There you will be issued with application for marketer licence from the authority.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee of and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
6. The Board field officers will inspect the application make recommendations on the application and forward their report forwarded to Board’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
7. Upon a successful approval, the Applicant is notified by E-mail or SMS.
8. Once the license processing is done the coffee nursery License is issued within 90 days to the applicant by the Managing Director of coffee and tea authority.

Required Documents

• A certified copy of certificate of incorporation.
• A certified copy of memorandum and articles of association.
• Be in possession of a grower code issued by the Directorate
• Be in possession of a valid pulping station license issued by the Directorate
• Names of Committee members and individual National ID Numbers, Certificates of Good conduct.
• Compliance with Statutory requirements, including but not limited to Safety & Occupational Health Certificate and Local Authority Business Permit.
• Submit coffee production statistics for the past three years with evidence of milling statements.
• Undertaking to deduct and remit statutory levies based on the declared value of coffee.
• Undertaking to submit returns to the Directorate for roasted coffee and exports.
• Names of company directors, individual National ID/Passport No, Pin Numbers and certificate of good conduct.
• Names and addresses of two business referees.
• Tax compliance certificate from Ethiopia Revenue Authority for the Company and Directors.
• Clearance letter from the Coffee Exchange
• Proof of engaging the services of a coffee liquorer registered by the Directorate.
• Undertaking to furnish the Directorate with monthly returns.
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.
• If applicant is a registered business, the certificate of registration and particulars of the proprietors.

• Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.

• The license is valid for the period of one year.

• Coffee Grower Marketer License is a license issued to pulping station license holder in order to transact coffee as a grower marketer
• No person can coffee grower marketer unless he is the holder of a current license issued in respect thereof by the Board after consultation with the Director.
