Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To renew an identity card, the applicant must approach the Ministry of Interior Contact link
2. Applicants must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Applicants must enter all the information on the application form.
4. Applicants must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
5. Please refer to the fee details in the “Fees” section of this page.
6. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents to the respective office for verification and processing.
7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their card.
8. After seeing this notification, the applicant must go to the respective office and the applicants get their national identification card.
9. It would take about a month for the new ID cards to be issued.

Eligibility

• Any citizen holding an identity card that has been seized to be valid.

Fees

• The fees required are EGP 350.

Validity

• For holders aged 10 to 30 years old, their identity card will be valid for 5 years from the issuance date.
• While those from age 31 to 50, their identity card will stay valid for a period of 10 years.

The Identity Card is made of polycarbonate material, and it's about the size of a credit card.
