Egypt - Obtain a Death Certificate

Apply In-Person
- To obtain a Death Certificate, the applicant/ family of deceased must first approach and inform the Ministry of Health contact link
- Then the applicant must approach the Civil Status Department (CSD, maslahat al-ahwal al-madaniyya) of Egypt's Ministry of Interior office.
- The applicant must submit the death notification form to the Ministry of Interior.
- The person registering the dead (applicant) shows an attestation signed by a medical officer who confirmed the death of the person.
- If the applicant does not have this document, they must show an attestation signed by both the Cell Executive Secretary and the Village leader where the deceased resided or buried.
- The health office issues a permit for burial, with the cause of death, after the health inspector detects it.
- The Health Office sends the death certificate to the civil registry, and in turn issues an official death certificate stamped after the request of the family of the deceased.

- The applicant who has lost a person and requires a death Certificate can apply.

The fee to issue a death certificate is LE 100-200
