Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain temporary driver license in Egypt the applicant must approach the local Egyptian directorate of traffic: URL
2. The applicant needs to carry all the required documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this procedure for the process.
3. The applicant must present the original and copy of your Egyptian ID or your passport which proves your place of residence to the same traffic department you are affiliated and you have to be 18 years old at least.
4. The applicant must fill and submit the 251 Traffic Form along with the required fees.
5. After filling in the forms and submitting the required documents, the license will be issued to the applicant within stipulated processing period. The applicant must approach the office mentioned earlier to collect the license once they get notified by the authority about the same.

• Temporary Driver License are issued in return of LE 1 per day.

• The validity is 60 days.

• Egyptian Vehicle Registration Number plates are license plates used for official identification purposes for motor vehicles in Egypt. The new vehicle registration plates, are rectangular in shape and made of aluminum. The top part has the word "Egypt" in English and Arabic in black font on backgrounds of different colors depending on the type of license the vehicle is given.
