Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Student Pilot Licence (SPL) in person, the applicant has to contact the nearest Civil Aviation Authority Office in Egypt.
  2. Information related to the civil aviation office and the License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
  3. Visit the CAA office with an application letter made in writing and duly signed by a person authorised by the applicant to request for renewal of Student Pilot License from the relevant department.
  4. Make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
  6. Attach the required documents with the application form.
  7. Then, proceed to submit the application package to the Director General at the office in person for further processes.
  8. Upon receipt of the application and the attached documents, the application will be subjected to an evaluation process in the Licensing Directorate by Licence Examiners/ASI.
  9. The applicant will be issued a payment slip for processing fees and will be directed to pay at a designated bank.
  10. The teller is presented to CAA cash office where an official receipt of payment is obtained and submitted at the Licensing Directorate upon which the application is processed.
  11. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the license.
  12. When the License is ready to be collected, the applicant will receive a formal notification from the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means.
  13. The processing time for this procedure is seven days.

EligibilityEdit

To be eligible for issue of Student Pilot License, an applicant shall;

  • Be at least sixteen years of age;
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language;
  • Be in possession of a valid Class 2 Medical Certificate.

  • A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.

  • The validity of the Permit shall be three (3) years.

InstructionsEdit

The applicant should –

  • Complete the SPL prescribed application form.
  • Complete the flying experience summary form.
  • Submit Class 1 Medical Certificate together with all the required documents.
  • Pay the applicable fees and submit the payment receipt.
  • Wait for the processing period to elapse then collect the applicant new SPL license.

  • Whether yet examined for and obtained a medical certificate in accordance with the Civil Aviation Regulations
  • Whether the applicant is able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language in accordance with the English language proficiency requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations.
  • Whether the applicant has met all the requirements for the issuance of this licence

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Any Private Pilot License pursuant in Egypt will require a Student Pilot License, prior to apply for a PPL.
  • It is required for performing the Solo flights and Pre-solo flights in the respective category of aircraft, which is prerequisite.

  • It is important that the completed form must contain all the information required properly and the form must be filled legibly, in order to get accepted by the Authority.
  • Make sure that the applicant attaches all the required documents as specified by the authority to avoid rejections.
  • The application must be submitted to the Director General, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on before the date of expiration of the existing license.
