Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Radiation Protection Board License in person, the applicant has to approach the Egypt Radio and Television Union (ERTU) Contact link.
2. Information related to the respective authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
4. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
5. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
6. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
7. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections, with respect to the type of license the applicant need. Attest it with the applicant’s signature once completed.
8. Once completed filling the application form, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
9. Pay the necessary application fees and licensing fees for obtaining a Radiation Protection Board License.
10. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for assessment by relevant authorities.
11. An inspection will be conducted at the Board premises to be registered by the technical officers of the Regulatory.
12. Once the review of the Inspection Report is over, if the application is approved, the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the license.
13. When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will receive a formal notification from the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means.
14. The processing time for this procedure is within one month.

Eligibility

• Any organization in Egypt, that intends to act as a Radiation Protection Board, can apply.
• The company should be in compliance with all the requirements stipulated by the Egypt Radio and Television Union (ERTU) Authority.

Fees

• Registration fee of EGP.1,000/= (paid once) and/or annual fees of EGP.1,000/=

Validity

• Validity for the license is one year.

• Radiation Protection Board License is required for an establishment/board that regulates the activities of the small scale Radiation premises like licensing, monitoring and other relevant activities.
• An individual whose job assignment requires work on, with, or in the proximity of radiation producing machines or radioactive materials and has the potential of being exposed to radiation should register with the Radiation Protection Board and be issued with a license.
