Procedure[edit]

Applying process in Dominica for citizens and non citizens.

a. Apply In-Person
  1. Police Clearance Certificate can be applied at “Criminal Investigations Department”.
  2. Link for contact: link applicant can use the above link to locate the respective office for applying.
  3. Go to the respective office. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
  4. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
  5. This application will be processed by respective department.
  6. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in person or will be delivered through mail upon notification or issued as per norms.

  • A copy of your passport while living in Dominica.
  • A copy of your permit of stay in Dominica, passport number and place of issue as well.
  • Proofs of legal stay (copy of passport held during the said period with respective stamp and seal).

Eligibility[edit]

  • Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
  • The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.

  • For local applicants: EC$20 of stamps (approx. GBP£5.00)
  • For external applicants: EC$50 of stamps (approx. GBP£12.00)

Need for the Document[edit]

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.



Information which might help[edit]

Relevant document: Certificate of No Criminal Record (Certificado de No Antecedentes Policiales).

Residents and non-residents: Apply in person or through a representative acting on your behalf, or by post.

Provide: your passport, all previous names used, current and previous places of residence, and two photographs.

Non-residents must also provide a full set of fingerprints taken by a recognized police authority and a self- addressed and stamped envelope.

Fee: payable.

Note: certificates may be sent directly to the Department requesting them.



Other uses of the Document/Certificate[edit]

In many immigration cases you may be requested by relevant Government to present Police Clearance Certificate from another country where you have resided for some time. If you are going through immigration process, you will definitely be asked for such a certificate.

Original Police clearance certificate or a similar document provided by a law enforcement agency confirming the absence of a criminal record is required of all applicants sixteen (16) years and over. Police records are required from country of birth, citizenship and residence (where the applicant has lived for six (6) months or more) if different. Police records are required from a County/State and at Federal Level.
