Procedure

Apply In-Person

• Renewal of driving license for the one obtained from another state can be processed with the NOC obtained from home state RTO.
  

1. As a first step, get a NOC (No Objection Letter) from the RTO that issued the license initially. (Please check with local RTO whether NOC is required before processing)
   
   • Applicant can get the NOC on directly applying in his home town RTO
     
   • If it is not possible to go to the issuing RTO physically, send a letter requesting for NOC. Please send it using either India Post's Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due or through Speed Post with Acknowledgement Due. You will receive the acknowledgement confirming that the letter has been received by the RTO (that issued the license).
     
   • Retain the following -
     
   1. Copy of the NOC request letter
      
   2. The acknowledgement slip/card that you received via regular post/mail
      
2. Applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

8. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying
   
9. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
10. Present the completed application forms along with required documents in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
    
11. If the driver license renewal authority is satisfied with the application and the documents submitted, the driver license will be renewed.
    

Apply Online - Daman and Diu Renew driver license obtained from another state online with Images

1. First one has to make sure that all the required documents are in hand to apply online.
   
2. In order to apply for online, please follow the link : online portal
3. Please select "Online Services" from the menu and click on "Driver License Related Services".
4. You will be taken to a new screen where you have to select “Daman and Diu” in the drop down menu against “Please select the State from where the service is to be taken”.
5. In the next window, please click “Apply Online” to select “Services on Driving License” option
   
6. In the new screen please select “Daman and Diu” from the drop down menu and hit “Continue”
   
7. Please select appropriate option and fill in information prompted for, then click “Proceed” to get the new page to apply online by filling the details prompted and upload required documents to process the application.
   
8. Please take printout of Acknowledgement
   
9. You can take printout of online application form with the help of the link: please follow the link online portal link
   
10. Select “Daman and Diu” in the drop down menu against “Please select the State from where the service is to be taken”
    
11. In the next window, please click “Download Forms” to select “Print application form” option
    
12. Please enter your application number in the next window and hit ”Submit” to follow the next window to get the printout.
    
13. You can book appointment with RTO using the following link online appointment link
    
14. Please click “Appointment (Slot Booking)” to select “Driving Skill Test” option
    
15. In the new window select appropriate option and fill in prompted details and hit submit to process your request to book appointment.
    

Note : In case the applicant does not pass the test after three Appearances, he shall not be qualified to reappear for such test before the expiry of as period of sixty days from date of last such test.

Apply through Centres:

1. To Renew Driver License Obtained from Another State in Daman & Diu, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the mandatory application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the license.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Make the requisite payment required for the process (if applicable).
6. Now, submit the application to the office of the concerned centre and obtain the acknowledgement slip.
7. After successful verification, the License will be issued by the concerned authority.
8. Obtain the license from the concerned CSC centre by showing the acknowledgement slip.

Eligibility

• An application for renewal shall be made not more than one month before the date of expiry of the license.
  
• If the application is late for more than five years after the date of expiry of the license, the applicant should undergo all the formalities to obtain a fresh license.
  

Fees

• Pay as per advise of the RTO authority
  

Validity

• License to drive a Non-Transport Vehicle is valid for 20 years from the date of issue or until the holder attains the age of 50 years, whichever is earlier. After that, the License is renewed every 5 years.
  
• Transport Vehicle License is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue or renewal.

• As per Motor Vehicle Act 1988, a valid Driving License is necessary to drive any motor vehicle on public roads
