Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form is available in the U.S. Consulate or Embassy contact link
2. Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
3. Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
4. The fee for this procedure has been mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
5. Concerned authorities will look into the application form and submitted documents before providing an approval.
6. Approval will be provided within 6 - 11 weeks.
7. If the approval has not been given within 6 - 11 weeks, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

6. Applicants must print out the form and submit it in person or by mail.
7. After getting approval from concerned authorities, passport will be provided within 6 - 11 weeks.

Apply by Mail

2. Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
3. Take a new Passport size photo.
4. Place signed form, passport size photo, previously issued passport, and fee for the procedure in an envelope.

Eligibility

• Applicants had to be at least 16 years old and above.

Fees

• $65 - first-time applicants 16 and older (Applicant Fee -$30, Execution (Acceptance) Fee -$35)
• $50 - applicants under 16 (Applicant Fee -$15, Execution (Acceptance) Fee -$35)
• $30 - renewals by mail

Validity

• The US Passport has ten years Validity Period.
