How to Apply
Apply In-Person

  1. Visit the nearest Health facility that offer the Yellow fever vaccine, during working hours {view office location &contact section below for details}.
  2. Present your identification document to the registration unit/reception desk.
  3. Non-citizens will be required to pay for the vaccine at the cash counter/office and present the payment receipt to the registration unit.
  4. Wait for your turn at the waiting area, your name will be called and you will be usher into the injection room to be administered with the vaccine by a medical practitioner.
  5. The medical practitioner/registrar will fill out the yellow fever booklet and issue it, plus your identification document immediately.

EligibilityEdit

  • Citizens and non-citizens travellers of 1 years of age and older coming from – or transit through airport of countries that are consider high risk of the yellow fever transmission.


FeesEdit

The processing fee is;

  • No cost for citizens.
  • BWP 40.00 for non-citizens.


ValidityEdit

  • The validity of the yellow fever certificate is for lifetime and it begins 10 days after the vaccination

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • A vaccination waiver may be issued with a medical practitioner, if the yellow fever vaccine may cause other health complication i.e. allergies, person suffering from other diseases
  • However this may cause problems when crossing a boarder as some countries may not recognize the medical waiver
