Apply In-Person
- The application to be registered with the Rural Area Development Programme shall be made to the Botswana urban and district council (local authorities) Office. Local Authorities Contact Details
- Interest applicants should visit the local authority Office, Social and Community Development (S&CD) Unit within their jurisdiction and express their interest to be registered with the program to the social and Community Development (S&CD) officer.
- Submit the supporting documentation to be validated by the S&CD officer, he/she will complete the Social inquiry form on behalf of the applicant.
- The S&CD officer would provide the applicant with detailed information on the scheme and perform a site visit at the agreed time to assess the suitability of the applicant's premises for poverty alleviating programs.
- During the site visit by the S&CD officer, the applicant or an authorized representative should be present.
- If the premises are not suitable, the S&CD officer would advise the applicant to select a more suitable benefits program.
- If the site is suitable the applicant will be provided with technical skills and awareness, and business training, before being registered as a beneficiary of the program.

- Any Botswana citizen who is 18 years of age or older, living in any of the 69 Settlements Qualified under the Rural Area Development Programme is eligible to apply.
