Procedure[edit]

Applying process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

a. Apply In-Person for citizens
  1. If you live in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, you should apply at the Cantonal Police Office of the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) responsible for your city.
  2. If you reside in the Republika Srpska, you should apply at the district police departments of the Ministry of the Interior (SUP) responsible for your city.
  3. If you were born in the Republika Srpska but currently live in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, you may be requested to apply at the police department responsible for the city of your place of birth.

  5. Application forms can be obtained from the respective office or can be downloaded from this link: Form
  6. Go to the respective office as applicable. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
  7. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
  8. This application will be processed by respective department.
  9. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in person or will be delivered through mail upon notification or issued as per norms.


Applying process in Bosnia and Herzegovina and overseas for citizens and non citizens.

a. Apply through representative
  1. Applicant shall nominate a representative to apply on their behalf to obtain PCC from the respective police station responsible for the city in which you were born.
  2. The mandated person should be entrusted with the notarized power-of-attorney.

  • Valid identity document (identity card, passport, driving license).
  • Valid passport.
  • The original or a copy of your identity card (Licna karta)
  • Birth certificate


Foreign national

  • A copy of your passport while living in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • A copy of your permit of stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, passport number and place of issue as well.
  • Proofs of legal stay (copy of passport held during the said period with respective stamp and seal).

Eligibility[edit]

  • Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
  • The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.


Fees[edit]

  • The fees for obtaining a criminal records in Bosnia are set up by each regional authority up to 35BAM (approximately £17)
  • Fee/charge varies for case to case. Updated fee requirement will be provided by respective authorities while applying.


Validity[edit]

  • Valid for six months.
  • Validity norms vary from country to country.

Need for the Document[edit]

Certificate of non-conviction (Uvjerenje o nekaznjavanju). Bosnian authorities do not issue certificates to non-citizens, regardless of their period of stay in Bosnia.

The certificate can be applied for by the following:

Individuals or authority may be given to a relative, friend or lawyer in Bosnia to act on applicants behalf.

External applicants may contact their local Bosnian Embassy/Consulate or appoint a third party representative

Individuals can apply directly in person at the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs office or Municipal Court where they were born.

In order to obtain a Certificate of No Conviction, The relevant region is determined by the applicants place of birth.
