Procedure

Apply Online

1. To renew a Tour Operator Or Travel Agent Certificate, the applicant has to make their application online via link
2. The applicant has to enter all the required details in the application form.
3. And upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. Once completed with all the details click the “Submit” button.
5. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
6. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
7. BSTDC authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the touring company and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide franchise permission.
8. The applicant will be later requested to collect the Renewed Tour Operator License on a specified date.
9. This entire process can be completed within 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

1. To renew Tour Operator Certificate, applicant has to visit the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation.

3. Application form can be downloaded from the below link:Application Form.
4. Click on “Travel agent registration” under “Important links” mentioned at the bottom of the page. A PDF will be downloaded.
5. Now complete the form with necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the required documents section below.
7. Check the application form and then submitted to the Director of Tourism in Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation address mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. BSTDC authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the touring company and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide a franchise permission.
10. The applicant will be later requested to collect the Renewed Tour Operator License on a specified date.

Eligibility

• Applicant who is having the certificate of registration as a tour operator can apply for renewal.
• Tourist operator who doesn’t have any criminal records or negative feedback can apply.
• Tourist operator who achieved the sales target in the previous year of service.
• Applicant has to renew the license one month before the expiry period.

Fees

• The applicant has to pay Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only).

Validity

• The Renewed license shall be granted for three years.

Instructions

• The license shall be granted for three years and renewal thereof after every three years on the application of renewal submitted.
• It is statutory for the applicant to display details of various BSTDC offered packages, list of hotel and also about L.T.C facilities available for BSTDC operated tours.
• All cancellation and postponement should be done through online and charges are as per the BSTDC policy.

Need for the Document

• Tour operator must be registered to avail concessions and incentives from the state and central government.

• The approved applicant should do the minimum sales target per year. Falling to achieve the target for consecutive years, applicant should be disqualified resulting in termination.
• Tour operator is one who makes arrangements for transport, accommodation, entertainment and other tourism related activities.
