Apply In-Person

  1. The Applicant has to submit an application in Form 3 to the Bahamas Investment Authority.
  2. Visit the following link for Contact Details Link.
  3. The Applicant can download the Form from the following Form Link.
  4. Complete the application form with all details.
  5. After filling in all the details submit the Application Form along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Bahamas Investment Authority along with the corresponding Fee.
  6. The fee shall be payable at the Public Treasury.
  7. The Board may at its discretion approve or reject an application for a permit.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Copy of National Photo Identification (Passport, Driver’s Licence, etc.)
  • Written confirmation that due diligence has been completed to meet “Know Your Customer” requirements, under the Financial Transactions Reporting Act, 2000.
  • Police Record / Certificate from Country of residence or Sworn Affidavit where applicable.
  • Character Reference.
  • Bahamas Immigration Status
  • Social Security Number / National Identification Number
  • Real Property Tax Assessment Number.
  • Evidence of Payment of Real Property Tax (must be current)
  • If the applicant is a Bahamian Registered Company a copy of Certificate of Incorporation / Registration in The Bahamas is required.
  • Financial Reference
  • Source of Wealth If self-employed, state in which field and provide proof thereof)
  • Copy of site plan of land being acquired/purchased (please include size)

A processing fee of $500.00 for Certificate of Registration is payable to the Public Treasury prior to issuance of Certificate.
