Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a Tenant Verification in Assam, get the Tenant Verification form from your concerned police station.
  2. You can also download and print the form from the online link: Application Form
  3. Fill the required details of the Landlord.
  4. Fill the required details of the Tenant and the Tenant’s Family Members.
  5. Attach the Required Documents and photographs of the Tenant.
  6. Duly sign the form and submit the form at the nearest Police Station. Assam Police Stations
  7. Pay the processing fee if required.
  8. Receive the acknowledgement receipt and keep it safe for further reference.
  9. Visit the Police Station to get the report once it is ready.



Apply Online - Apply to get Tenant Verification Online with Images

  1. To apply for Tenant Verification online, one has to login to Assam’s Citizen Portal.
  2. If you are a new user, create a new user account with your details Citizen Registration.
  3. Now login with your account and select Tenant Verification: Citizen Login
  4. In the given new window, fill the Landlord’s details.
  5. Fill the required Tenant and Tenant’s Family member’s details.
  6. Upload the photo and required documents in the required size and file format.
  7. Check the details filled for any correction before you submit the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
  8. Pay the Tenant Verification Processing fee if required.
  9. After submission, you will receive your Service Request No. through SMS or E-Mail.
  10. Your application will now be processed and the police will make verifications to create a Report.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Under any circumstances, it is advisable to apply for a Tenant verification certificate before you rent out your Building to a Tenant.
  • Terrorists and Criminals usually try to rent a place with forged documents. Thus, conducting a Tenant Verification would ensure that you are renting your building to someone who is not troublesome.
  • Landlords could be booked for renting out a property to a terrorist or a criminal without prior Tenant Verification.

  • When one applies for a Tenant Verification, the police runs a complete background check on the Tenant and their details are stored with the police. This protects the Tenant from involving in any criminal activities in the near future, since their records are stored with the police.
