Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for notice to modify or alter a motor vehicle in Andhra Pradesh you can approach the RTO office in your respective area. You can find the details in “Office Locations & Contacts’’ section of this page.
2. Visit the Office and get the Application form for notice to modify/alter your motor vehicle from the relevant department or you can download the application form from the following link : Link
3. Please fill the application with essential information and details and it should be attested with the applicant’s signature and registering authority.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed in “Required Documents” section of this page. Attach all the important documents mentioned.
5. Then, it should be submitted to the relevant authority. Also pay the required fees including service charges for the application process at the office as directed by the officials. You will be provided with an acknowledgement receipt.
6. And now your application and attached documents will be passed for verification to check for genuineness
7. After all the processes are completed, concerned officials will approve the application and proceed with the license issuance process.
8. Once the license is ready to be collected, office will inform the applicant to collect it through any applicable means.
   

Apply Online: - Notice to Modify or Alter a Motor Vehicle Online with Images

1. To apply for notice to modify/alter a motor vehicle through online, you can visit the following links Link / Link
2. On the opened Home page enter your vehicle registration number and click proceed to avail “Alteration of Vehicle” service.
3. Or you can select your state and respective district at the bottom of the same page and click Log on to avail service. Now in the opened page click on the alter vehicle icon to proceed with the procedure
4. In an opened page enter your chassis number and your registered mobile number
5. Now click on generate OTP. OTP will be generated and sent to mobile number provided by applicant, also pop up message will be shown.
6. Enter the received OTP. Click on the show details button to proceed further
7. Verify the Vehicle details, owner details, and insurance details
8. Now click on payment button to proceed the online payment through payment gateway. You can find the payment details in ‘’Fees” section of this page.
9. Make payment button will allow you to select payment gateway. Select “SBIePAY” payment gateway for the e-payment.
10. Now, Accept terms and conditions by selecting the checkbox and then click on “Continue” button.
11. Select your bank and then click on “proceed” button. Select “Pay Now” option. Select “Successful” option
12. If bank status is success then transactions get approved and fee receipt will be generated. Application letter generated, now applicant can take the Print as required
13. Trace the application form and you can also view you application status whenever required. Do keep checking for notifications regarding your application.

Note: The department has 45 Regional Transport Offices located district / subdivision headquarters and offer fully computerized services of licences, registrations and permits. Applicant can select appropriate district and branch address from the given list in the above website and approach accordingly.

Eligibility

• Any person who wishes to alter/modify their motor vehicle can apply
• You must be a Driving license holder
• Your Vehicle must be registered in India- Andhra Pradesh
• The vehicle for which the alteration notice is proposed must be registered in the name of the applicant.
• Alterations to be made must fit under the guidelines of Road safety and Pollution control

You can also get the appropriate fee details and charges regarding the alterations which you are going to make in your motor vehicle from the RTO OFFICE in your area.

Note: The benefits of GST and other concessions are being provided to the divyangjan (physically challenged person) under various schemes of the government for the purchase /ownership/ alteration of the motor vehicles.

Validity

Validity is for 15 years and then the owner of the vehicle should renew it for every 5 years with relevant documents.

Processing Time

Minimum processing time can take up to 3 months from the date of submission of the notice application. In the mean period applicant is advised to submit any additional documents if required after consulting the respective authority at the office to avoid penalty.
