Procedure

Those who wanted to start a money lending business should have to apply for a money lender licence to carry on business of money lending.

Through Meeseva

1. Applicant shall apply through the MeeSeva centers. This request can be accessed by the Thaasildhaar and processed.
2. Application form can be collected from Meeseva center. Following link can provide you information related to nearest Meeseva Centers: link

4. Applicant has to submit the required documents along with a filled application form to the Meeseva operator. Meeseva operator will process the application. On completion of online filing, application number will be given to applicant for future reference #Applicant will receive transaction code in his registered mobile while applying.
5. The online details will be processed by Thaasildhaar.
6. This application will be processed further.
7. If the applicant’s details are matching the norms and the place for which license sought is also approved, applicant gets intimation for the rest of the process.
8. Please follow the department’s guidelines in getting the sanction and obtain license.

Apply In Person

1. To Apply for money lender (loner) license, the applicant has to approach their district Sub Divisional Officer tahsildar/assistant tahsildar/naib tahsildar office link
2. Note: The applicant has to Select their respective district to find nearby Office to them.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
5. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
8. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
10. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
11. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
12. Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant gets the Certificate with the authority's signature through email.

Eligibility

• Age : 18 years and above (If minors are applying then apply through a guardian)
• Citizen of India
• Applicant should not knowingly participated in or connived at any fraud or dishonesty in the conduct of or in connexion with the business of money-lending
• The applicant should not have got his/her licence cancelled within last six months or the prescribed period before the date of current application.

Fees

• As authorities quote.
• Charges for affixing stamp may be required.

Validity

• Valid for 5 years or as per the period mentioned
• Usually the license needs to be renewed annually.
