Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for reconnection of water supply, approach the executive engineer in the APWD office.
2. Link for contact details : Link. Scroll down and refer “Contact Details”.
3. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
4. Complete the application form. Attach the entire required documents as per our “Required Documents” section and present it to the designated authority.
5. This application and attached documents will be checked. If all are in place, applicant will be advised to pay reconnection fees.
6. Please pay the advised fees at the respective counter and obtain the receipt.
7. Now submit your application for reconnection along with the remittance of application fee, reconnection fee and all dues paid details if any to the designated authority in two sets. (second set will be returned with signature of the receiving authority)
8. Once the application is received, authorities will register the request into the register.
9. Applicant will get acknowledgment for the submitted application. Please keep it safe for future reference.
10. This application will be processed internally. Department staff will reconnect the service as notified.

Apply Online:

1. To obtain a new water connection online in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the applicant has to visit the following link:Link
2. Enter the username and password to log in under the "Entrepreneur Login" section of the page, if you are already a user. Otherwise, click on the "Register" button for a new account and provide email id and phone number.
3. An OTP will be sent to the registered phone number, fill in the code in the required field to proceed further.
4. A confirmation email will also be sent to the registered email id.
5. The applicant is required to verify the email id by clicking on the link provided in the email.
6. After verification, the applicant has to fill up all the required details in the fields provided and click on the "ok" button to submit.
7. On successful signing up, locate an appropriate application form for the reconnection of the water supply.
8. Follow the on-screen instructions and provide the necessary details for applying online in the prescribed format in the application form.
9. Also, upload the "Required Documents" and make the payment required for processing the application (if any).
10. Upon successful completion of all the steps, the application will be approved for reconnection of the water supply.
11. The applicant may track the status of their application by clicking on the "Track Status of Application" button in the link provided: Link.

• Updated Tax Payment Receipt
• NOC from property Tax department (If required)
• Aadhaar card.

Eligibility

• A valid consumer whose water connection is disconnected.
• All the payments are paid up to date.

Fees

• Fees/charges should be paid as applicable and as advised by the authorities.
• If reconnection is sought after disconnection of water supply connection, department levied fine has to be paid by the consumer in addition to the deposition of security deposit as deposited at the time of commencement of the water connection.

Validity

The reconnection availed will be valid as long as the required tax or charges as per the department are paid.

Need for the Document

• Reconnection for water supply arises based on the request by the party or on clearing of pending dues or reconnection by Department in case of disconnection due to any reason.

Information which might help

• In case of non-payment of bill, consecutively for 2 (two) months or as specified by the department water supply connection will be disconnected.
• Beware – Law is strict against those who dodge to follow the amendments.
