Alabama - Get Case Information Record (Court)

Apply Online (Via Case Pacer)
- To Get Case Information Record (Court), the applicant can find the case online via the following link
- The applicant has to click “Find a Case” and select “search by specific court” from the drop-down menu.
- Next the applicant has to click “Pacer Login” and enter username, password, client code and select court from the drop-down menu and click “Login”.
- If the applicant is a new user, click “need an account?” and enter the applicant’s particulars and register an account.
- After logging in the applicant has to enter all the case information.
- The applicant has to make sure to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Review the application and click submit.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of $0.10 per page. (Payment can be made via credit and debit cards)
- The applicant gets the record from the office within a day.
Apply By Phone:
- To Get Case Information Record (Court), the applicant can obtain the case information through the Court's automated Voice Case Information System (VCIS) at (866) 222-8029.
- A case number, complete name, or social security number/ITIN is required to obtain case information.
- Next the applicant has to provide the following details one by one to get information.
- Case number
- Name(s) of debtor(s), or principal party(ies)
- Date the case was filed, whether a voluntary or involuntary petition was filed, and the chapter under which the petition was filed
- Name and phone number of the debtor’s attorney
- Trustee's name
- Name of the assigned judge
- Discharge and closing dates
- Whether there are assets in the case
- Case status
- Case disposition
- Once all the above-mentioned details are provided properly, the applicant can get information from Voice Case Information System (VCIS).
- This system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Apply In-Person:
- To Get Case Information Records (Court), the applicant has to approach the U.S Bankruptcy Court clerk offices link
- The applicant has to download the form to search the record from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit the form to the nearest court office, the address details are mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- If the officer needs any additional information, the applicant has to give the details or document.
- The fee for this procedure is mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
- The applicant gets the record from the office within a day.
Apply Through NARA (National Archives and Records Administration)
Important Note: Only Cases closed for one year or more may be archived at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
Obtaining case information and apply NARA through Mail
- To retrieve case information or copies of documents from NARA, the Transfer Number, Location Number, and Box Number first must be obtained from the Clerk's Office where the bankruptcy case was filed.
- First the applicant has to approach U.S Bankruptcy Court clerk offices link
- Then the applicant has to obtain the following information
- Transfer Number
- Location Number
- Box Number
- Next the applicant has to download the NARA's NATF Form 90 from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Then the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee which is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- Note: The applicant has to make the payment via Check or Money Order.
- Mail the form to the state Nara Office, the address details are displayed in “Step 1 of the application form once you select the state where the court case was filed”
- It takes 1-3 work days from receipt of payment for processing the order.

- Then the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee which is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- The Authority will send an email confirming that they have received the request and the applicant will be able to track the order online at no additional cost.
