Apply In Person

  1. A medical camp may be held/conduct anywhere within the country upon application to the Dental Practitioner shall be made to the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council’s (KMPDC) for a license not less than four (04) weeks before the commencement of the medical camp. Those eligible should collect and complete the Application to Conduct Medical/Dental Camp(s) Form 1, available at the KMPDC offices or download it via the KMPDC website KMPDC Downloads, (scroll down the page and then click on the “Other Form” option to locate the form) or directly download it using this Application to Conduct Medical/Dental Camp(s) Form 1
  3. Submit the supporting documentation as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, in addition to the duly completed application form, in all respect, to the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council’s (KMPDC) Office. Any omission of the required information or documents will render the application process incomplete.
  4. The application shall also be accompanied by proof of payment of the prescribed Application and Credentialing fees as mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
  5. The Council may in its discretion waive the prescribed fees or any part thereof for the general interest of the public.
  6. Upon receipt of the application, the receiving officers will check for discrepancies or ineligibility in the application documents. If a discrepancy that cannot be immediately corrected exists in any of the documents, the application and all the submitted documents will be returned to the applicant and should not be re-submitted until the discrepancy has been rectified.
  7. The KMPDC office may request additional information relevant to the application. In such a case, the information must be submitted within the stipulated time from the date of notification. Where the applicant fails to submit the required information, the application shall be rejected.
  8. If the receiving officer is satisfied that all the requirements have been met for the application, it is registered for processing and consideration.
  9. The applicant is issued with an acknowledgment slip as proof of submission of the application and for inquiry referencing if the need arises.
  10. After the document evaluation phase have been completed satisfactorily, which is usually completed within two (02) weeks, the KMPDC office shall prepare the license , which indicates the approval scope and limitations.
  11. A medical camp shall not be held for more than seven days unless the Council otherwise permit.
  12. While collecting the license, the applicant will be required to produce a proof of identity document and acknowledgment receipt to be validated at the KMPDC dispatch office.

  • Copies of up-to-date licenses of ALL dental practitioners involved in the camp
  • Copies of up-to-date licenses of ALL other health personnel involved in the camp
  • List of ALL non-dental personnel involved in the camp
  • Letter of authorization from the County Government or relevant Authority
  • List of ALL Dental Equipment
  • Referral Policy
  • Waste management and disposal policy
  • Dental Indemnity Cover.

  • Any other documents may be deemed necessary or as may be prescribed by the KMPDC office.

  • Registered Dental practitioners and dental institutions in Kenya seeking to hold dental camps in Kenya are eligible to make this application.



FeesEdit

  • Application fees KSh. 5,000.00
  • Credentialing fees as per the following categories:
    • Category A - KSh.100,000.00
    • Category B - KSh.50,000.00
    • Category C - KSh.20,000.00
    • Category D - KSh.10,000.00
    • Category E – Free

ValidityEdit

  • The license to conduct a medical campus is valid for the duration applied for.
  • A medical camp shall not be held for more than seven (07) days unless the Council otherwise permits; however, the license shall lose its validity upon being revoked or canceled by the Council.

An application for license to hold a medical camp shall be filled in the Application to Conduct Medical/Dental Camp(s) Form 1 and shall be accompanied by a prescribed fee and the following information

  • a detailed profile of the medical camp which shall include the dates, location and services to be provided.
  • a list of the practitioners and other health professionals who shall attend to patients during the medical camp
  • a list of non-health professionals involved in the medical camp.
  • a list of medical equipment and supplies.
  • a referral policy as set out in the approved referral guidelines.
  • a professional indemnity cover from a recognized organization.
  • a waste management policy.
  • Any other additional information may be deemed necessary or as may be prescribed by the KMPDC office
