Jordan - Obtain Citizenship Certificate

ProcedureEdit

  1. Submit an official letter from the Minister of Interior to move on with the naturalization transaction.
  2. Bring the required documents.
  3. Fill out the application and stick the stamps worth half a JOD with the need to mention the full address to be able to contact him.
  4. Get the approval of the security authorities (The Jordanian General Intelligence Department - GID).
  5. Forward the application back to the Minister of Interior, attaching the naturalization and naturalization file request, which in turn is brought to the ministers council to take a final decision.
  6. After receipt of the official letter of the Minister of Interior, including the approval of the ministers council, the applicant is called to get the naturalization certificate and he is asked to :
  7. Pay the nationality fee (for Arabs, expatriates, and investors 3,000 JOD), the normal naturalization (for foreigners is 5,000 JOD).
  8. Oath before the Magistrate's Court judge.
  9. Create national ID numbers for the applicant and his children or convert their previous serial numbers to national ID numbers and make a civil record and issue the family book and identity cards according to the procedures.
  10. Print a certificate of citizenship or naturalization for the applicant and the addition of boys who are under eighteen years of age, including their national ID numbers.
  11. Submit his foreigner passport which he revoked his nationality of, to be returned to the concerned State concerned.
  12. Issue the a passport to the certificate holder.
