Apply In-Person

  1. To successfully start and operate a of Eggs or Egg Products in Jamaica, you should submit your complete application to obtain registration license from the Veterinary Service Division (VSD) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.   2. Obtain the application form from the VSD office in person or download it form the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries website through this link: Link (please search for “Hatchery Application Form” to locate the form easily) alternatively, you can download the form directly via this link: Link
  3. Read the instructions provided in the form carefully and complete the from accordingly
  4. Prepare and attach all the required supporting documents to the application form in a single file
  5. Write an inspection request letter clearly giving details that will enable inspectors to locate and conduct their inspection on the cold hatchery facility and attach it to the complete application
  6. Then go the VSD office and pay the application fees at the cashier and submit the complete application to the VSD service section including the application payment receipt
  7. The service official will verify your application and issue you an acknowledgement receipt for submitting the application
  8. On the inspection date the VSD inspectors will conduct a due diligence inspection on the facility to determine if it adheres to all the required standard for operations and make a report depending on the inspection results
  9. If there are some areas to improve on, the inspector will notify you through a written letter within fourteen days of the inspection and you will be obligated to notify the VSD or the relevant inspector as when the shortcomings will be corrected for further inspection
  10. Then the inspection team will submit their due diligence report to the veterinary committee, who will review your application and the report and make their recommendation to the VSD on whether to approve or reject your application
  11. You will then be notified of the approval or denial of the application in writing
  12. If the application is approved, you will be required to pay the full fee for the registration license and operating certificate
  13. And upon payment the license and certificate will be prepare and issued to you
