ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person

  1. To register a horse in Jamaica, you should submit your complete application to the Jamaican Racing Commission (JRC), please view the JRC contact details in the “Office Locations and Contacts” section below
  2. Obtain the Stallion Service Certificate from the JRC office or download it from their website via this link:Link (Stallion Service Certificate) or download it directly via this link:Link
  3. Complete the Stallion Service Certificate and sign it or get it signed by an authorized agent
  4. Then obtain a Thoroughbred registration form which must be completed by a locally registered Veterinarian, who is neither the breeder nor the owner of the foal.
  5. Submit the completed Thoroughbred registration form together with the Stallion Service Certificate to the JRC for registration of the horse.
  6. Pay the required registration fee and obtain the payment receipt
  7. The JRC will validate your application and you will be required to take a written and a riding test which you must pass
  8. Once you have satisfied the JRC standard requirements, your horse will be registered and you will be issued the registration documents
