Apply In-Person:
- To view or update the application status of New Disability Benefits for Veterans in person, the applicant has to visit the office where he/she has made the application.

- Visit the office and approach the respective official who is responsible to keep track of the New Disability Benefits for Veterans application status.
- The official in-charge may require verifying the applicant’s identity and checking whether he/she has applied.
- The applicant will have to provide some relevant information to view or update the application status.
- Refer “Required Documents” section of this page to know about the required information.
- Once the applicant has provided the required information, the official in-charge will check the application status and reveal it to the applicant.
- The service is free of cost and the applicant need not pay anything for using the service.
- If the applicant needs to update already provided information, he/she should provide the information to the official and the official will make the respective changes.
Apply online
- To view or update the application status of New Disability Benefits for Veterans online, the applicants has to visit the following link apply online
- Users who already have a Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) account can visit the link and click “Sign-In” button. Choose an applicable sign-in option in the next page and then proceed.
- Or else, click “Register” button to sign up for new VAC account. There will be two options to sign in and create the VAC account.
- If the applicant wishes to continue with Sign-In Partner, click “Continue to Sign-In Partner” button or click “Continue to GC Key” button to continue with GC Key.
- In the first case, the applicant should use the online banking information and proceed to create the VAC account.
- In the other case, the applicant should use the GC Key User ID and proceed to create the VAC account.
- If the applicant does not have a GC Key, he/she can click the “Sign Up” button and proceed to create the GC Key.
- The process can be completed just by following the on-screen instructions as applicable.
- After opening the account, the applicant has to locate the application link that he/she has made already.
- Then, the applicant should click on the applicable option to view or update the application status, by following the on screen instructions.
- Once updated, the applicant should click an applicable button to save the changes made to the application.
- The service is free of cost and the applicant need not pay anything for using the service.

- If you received a benefit from VAC between 2003 and 2010 and it was under the Pension Act, you may receive a corrective payment because of a discrepancy in our calculations.
- If you are legally entitled to inherit assets from the estate of a deceased recipient, you may apply to receive a corrective payment if you are eligible.
- If the disability for which you are receiving VAC benefits worsens and medical evidence can show this change in your condition, you can request a reassessment.
- If the reassessment confirms that your condition has worsened, your disability benefit will be adjusted accordingly – unless you are already receiving the maximum amount of the benefit.
