Apply Online Using JSWIFT

  1. The office in charge for issuing Export permit is The Trade broad of Jamaica under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF). Please view the Trade board contact details and location map via this link: Link
  2. However to apply for the export permit, you should submit your application online through the Jamaica Single Window for Trade (JSWIFT)
  3. Access JSWIFT portal by clicking on Link and click on “login” in the information bar to go to your account or click on “Register” to create an account if you are not a registered user
  4. Fill the online registration form correctly and upload your identification documents as required
  5. Read and Agree to the Terms and Condition by clicking on the check box and then click on the reCAPTCHA to confirm that you are not a robot and then submit your application by clicking on the “Submit” button
  6. You will then be directed to the next page where you can review your application in details and opt to edit it by Clicking on the “Go Back” button or Confirm submission once if you are satisfied with the application
  7. The you will receive an acknowledgment notification confirming to you that you application has been successfully submitted and that you should check your email account to verify the email address that you have provided
  8. Check your email account and verify your email address and then you will be directed to other link where you will find your JSWIFT user name
  9. Obtain the user name and click on the provided link to create your JSWIFT account password, In the next page key in your user name and preferred password, ensure that the password matches in the confirming password box and Click on “Create” you will then receive a notification informing you the your password has been successfully set
  10. Now go to the JSWIFT website: Link and login using your account user name and password
  11. Once logged in, in the dashboard select “Permit” and then Select “New” choose the regime of your application in this case “Export”
  12. Then enter the general required information, details of the item to be exported, and attach all the required documents and pay the required fees using the online platform and submit your complete application.
  13. Once you submit, the application is automatically assigned to the Trade Board Assessor and processed by way of “Approval”, “Query” for additional details or “Rejected” in whichever case you will be notified of the outcome through your email address
  14. Upon approval, the finalized permit application is sent to ASYCUDA system under Jamaican custom agency.
  15. Visit the ASYCUDA Link login into the system to upload your approved export permit

Scrap Gold:

  • Approval Letter from Jamaica Customs
  • Scrap Metal Inspection Report from Jamaica Customs

Coffee and Pimento:

  • Approval from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries


Animals: Live (Subject to Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species):

  • Veterinary Health Certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture
  • If endangered species an approval letter from the National Environmental Planning Agency (NEPA)is also required


Sugar:

  • Approval letter from the Sugar Industry Authority


Petroleum Oils:

  • Approval letter from the Ministry of Energy and Mining


Ammunition (explosives & firearms):

  • Approval letter from the Ministry of National Security and the
  • Firearm Licensing Authority
  • Commissioner of Police, Jamaica Constabulary Force


Ores Minerals and metals including Bauxite, Alumina and Gypsum and Aggregate:

  • Approval letter from the Ministry of Energy and Mining (Commissioner of Mines)


Plasma in any form:

  • Approval letter from the Ministry of Health (MOH)


Motor Vehicles/Equipment:

  • Applicants letter
  • Copies of Ownership documents (Fitness & Registration Certificate, Title, experts. etc.)

Individual and companies can apply for export license of they wish to export the following products
Products which require an export license:

  • Scrap Metal (Scrap Batteries)
  • Scrap Gold/Silver
  • Coffee and Pimento
  • Live animals
  • Endangered Species
  • Brown sugar
  • Petroleum Oils
  • Ammunition (explosives and firearms)
  • Eggs (N.O.P.)
  • Antique furniture
  • Ores Minerals and metals including Bauxite, Alumina and Gypsum
  • Paintings (antique)
  • Plasma in any form
  • Wood Lignum vitae and log wood only
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Jewelry (Excluding those from earth metals)
  • Shells (subject to Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species administered by NEPA)

InstructionsEdit

  • The single window portal does not register a Company i.e. Limited Liability Company, Partnership, Sole Trader, Public Trust and Ministries, Departments & Agencies (MDAs) as a User in the system.
  • Users must first register as an individual on the JSWIFT platform and then after Login the registered user is able to register their company or associate themselves with a registered company as an Entity Chief or as an Employee.
  • The user may have rights and privileges associated with their Entity based on their registered role in the system
