Apply In-Person

  1. The organisation in Charge of Firearms in Jamaica is the Firearms Licencing Authority (FLA) and you can view there contact details through this link: Link however, if you need to dispose your firearm, you can do so through a legally registered firearms dealer in you region
  2. Visit the Dealers office to obtain the firearm disposal permit application form or download load it form the FLA website: Link and scrolled to find “Disposal permit”then click on it to open the form or down the form directly via this link: Link
  3. Once you have obtained the form, fill section A and B with the correct information and then prepare all the required supporting documents for your application as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below.
  4. Visit the Firearms dealer office to submit the complete application for the disposal permit including the firearm and ammunition.
  5. The dealer will receive and verify your disposal application and safe keep the firearm and ammunition for collection by the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA).
  6. Then the dealer will contact the FLA and forward you application to the FLA for processing
  7. The FLA will review the disposal application and approve it then prepare and issue you a firearm disposal permit valid for thirty days to facilitate sale or transfer of the firearm.
