Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a controlled substance import permit, you should go to the Ministry of Health and wellness (MOH). Please view the MOH contact details via this link: Link
2. Visit the MOH’s office and go to the Pharmaceuticals and Regulatory Affairs Department to make an inquiry about the permit and obtain the application form and a list of the required documents for the application
3. Complete the application form correctly and attach all the required documents as advised by the MOH
4. Go to the MOH’s office and pay the permit’s fee at the Cashier and obtain the payment receipt
5. Submit the complete application to the Pharmaceuticals and Regulatory Affairs Department for processing
6. Then the MOH inspector will review your documentation to verify if the application is complete and in case the documentation is incomplete, the MOH will inform you to provide the additional required documents and/ information for the processing of the application to continue
7. If the documentation is complete, the application will be assessed to determine if you qualify for authorization to handle the controlled substance or not
8. If you do not qualify, the MOH will notify you that your application is unsuccessful, however, if you qualify, the MOH determine if the product is a precursor chemical
9. If it not a precursor chemical but it is a Narcotic or psychotropic; if the product is not a precursor chemical and it is a narcotic product, you will need to prepare Form A and C for the inspector to sign and stamp the permit and if the product is a psychotropic product you will need to prepare a Control Drug Permit
10. However, if the product is found to be a precursor chemical, the inspector will sign and stamp the permit and assign it a unique number
11. The complete permit will then be issued to you
