InstructionsEdit

If you are over 80 years old and will be out of Ontario when your license expires:

  • You can renew your license up to six months before it expires.
  • If you plan to be away in the 90 days before your license expires, you can call to book your session early.
  • If you cannot attend a renewal session before your license expires, you could get a one-time temporary drivers license permit. You will only get this permit once you have booked a renewal session.

How to know if you need to take a road test?
You may be asked to take a road test if you have:

  • demerit points on your driving record
  • trouble understanding the written test or group discussion

The road test will assess your basic driving skills and knowledge. You will not have to drive on a highway. No fee is charged for the test.

If you fail the road test the first time, dont worry. You can take the test again.
