ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for firearm license renewal, the applicant will need to visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police office, use the following Link
  2. The applicant will need to complete and submit the application form, use the following link to download the application form: Application Form.
  3. The applicant will need to attach documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, once completed, the application form and the documents should be submitted to the respective authority
  4. The applicant will have to pay a renewal fee, the details are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  5. The applicant shall receive their firearm license within 45 days from the submission of the application, they will need to collect it from the office.


Apply Online

  1. The applicant will need to visit the official Royal Canadian Mounted Police website, use the following Link.
  2. Click on the “Sign in to access individual web service” option.
  3. Sign-in using a sign-in partner, or using a GCkey.
  4. Once signed in, the applicant needs to click on the “Firearm license” renewal option.
  5. Enter details such as the expired license number.
  6. Once entered, the applicant will need to upload a photo that meets the requirements, find the photo requirements under the “Documents to use” section of this page.
  7. Submit the application form.
  8. The applicant will have to pay fees, find more information under the “Fees” section of this page.
  9. The applicant shall receive their firearm license within 45 days from the submission of the application, they will need to collect it from the office.

EligibilityEdit

  • The applicant must have a license that is expiring in 3 months.
  • The applicant should not be requesting a religious exception from having their photo taken.
  • The applicant cannot apply for renewal if their license has already expired.
  • The applicant cannot apply if their license is a minor’s license.
