Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To register or to Obtain FSSAI License for Food Import and Export you can approach the Commissioner of Food Safety / Officer-In-Charge for Food Safety.

3. For Import and Export, you have to approach the Commissioner of Food Safety / Officer-In-Charge for Food Safety.
4. Please collect the appropriate application form as per officer’s advice or write on a A4 sheet.
5. Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
6. Fill all the required information in the form and Submit the form to the Commissioner of Food safety department. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
7. Please complete the application form and make sure you have all the documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page.
8. Pay the appropriate fees and submit the form to the Commissioner of Food and Safety Department.
9. It may take 7 to 30days for processing of the application.
10. The authorities may visit the facility and make sure the quality and standards are maintained according to standards.
11. Once the application is accepted and if the authorities are satisfied with the documents provided and standards maintained the department will issue the license.

Apply Online:

1. To Obtain FSSAI License for Food Import and Export through online, you can use the FOSCOS website. Please click the following link : Foscos Website
2. Click the “Login-Businesses” tab and Under User sign-in Box enter your Application Ref. No./License No./Certificate No. and Click on the “Proceed” button to login.
3. If you are a new user, then Click on the "Do you want to apply for New License/Registration" and click on the "Apply for License/Registration" tab in the new page.
4. Next select the state from the dropdown list box and read the Note.
5. Next select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of your business. After that Click on the “Proceed” tab.

   • Note: If you are applying for importing click import option else click export option.

6. On the next page, Click on the “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
7. Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill all the required informations under premises details section and Click on the “Save & Next” tab.
8. On the Production selection page, fill all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
9. Next Click on the “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, Click on the “Save & Next”.
10. Next fill all the Communication details and Click on the “Save & Next”.
11. Under required documents section upload all the relevant documents and Click on the “Save & Next”.
12. Next pay the fees and submit the application.
13. After Successful Completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference number make a print of it and keep it safe for future reference.
14. You can track the application through the Home page.
15. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.
    
    

Apply through mobile app:

1. To Obtain Food Safety License (FSSAI) for Food Import and Export, the applicant has to visit the following link:Link
2. Now enter the login credentials if already a user otherwise, click on the “Registration” button as displayed on the webpage.
3. On a newly opened page, provide all the necessary details as required for the registration.
4. On successful registration, click on the “Application for FSSAI” as displayed on the screen.
5. Choose an appropriate option and fill up all the details correctly and submit.
6. On completion, an acknowledgement slip will be generated which must be kept for future reference.
7. After verification of the application, the license will be uploaded to the portal.
8. The applicant shall download the license from the portal or procure it from the concerned office.

Apply through Centres:

1. To Obtain Food Safety License (FSSAI) for Food Import and Export, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the process.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
6. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the CSC centre.

1. ID proof and Address proof
2. One Photo of the Food Business Operator
3. Identity Proof Documents such as Ration Card, Department Issued ID, PAN Card, Passport, Senior Citizen Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card
4. Affidavit
5. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the owners or the partners
6. The origin certificate of the country.
7. Importer exporter code or IEC obtained from DGFT.
8. Entry bill.
9. Blueprint or layout of the area location.
10. Contact details of the directors.
11. List and details of the types of equipment and Machinery.
12. List of food category that has to be manufactured.
13. Authority letter with the name and address of the responsible person.
14. Proof of possession of premises.
15. Partnership affidavit of proprietorship.
16. Food Safety Management System Plan or certificate.
17. The end-use declaration, a declaration that food is not GM food.
18. Depending on individual import and export items, other documents may be required.
