ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To obtain Commercial Vehicle Registration in person, the applicant has to visit the Driver and Vehicle office nearest to their location.
  2. Address and contact information of Driver and Vehicle offices can be found in the following Contact link
  3. The applicant has to contact the office that is easily accessible from their location. The official in-charge may require the applicant to visit their office.
  4. The official will direct the applicant to complete the form required to be completed, with respect to the status of the vehicle.
  5. While visiting the office, the applicants should carry the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to complete the form with required details under the respective sections and attest it with their signature.
  7. Then, all the required documents should be attached with the completed form.
  8. While submitting the application form and required documents to the official, the applicant has to make the fees payment through any available mode.
  9. The applicant can refer the “Fees” section of this page, for the fees details.
  10. After submitting the application package, the submitted application and attached documents will be assessed and verified.
  11. Processing of the application and assessment of the submitted information takes place for a time period of six to eight weeks.
  12. Upon completion of the assessment and verification, the applicant will be intimated through phone or email to collect the Registration Certificate.


Apply online

  1. To obtain Commercial Vehicle Registration online, the applicant has to visit the following online application link Apply online
  2. Northwest Territories eServices Portal will be opened in which, there will be two options for signing in into the portal.
  3. The first option is signing in with the help of banking information. To use this, the applicant has to click “Sign-In Partner Login/Register” button.
  4. The applicant can click the “View list of Sign-in Partners” button to know the available banks/ Sign-In Partners. The applicant can use this option only if the applicant has already registered for online banking with any of the available banks/Sign-In Partners.
  5. The applicant should provide their banking details in the fields provided and login into the portal after clicking the “Sign-In Partner Login/Register” button.
  6. Another option is signing in using NT Key and to use this, the user should click “NTKey Sign-In Or Sign-Up” button. In the next page, the applicant has to choose the language through which they wish to proceed, by clicking the applicable button.
  7. In the upcoming page, the applicant can enter the user details in the fields provided and click “Sign In” button to enter into the portal, if they already have their NTKey. If not, they should click “Sign Up” button which is present below.
  8. Terms and conditions page will appear, click “I accept” button. Create the Username in the next page and click “Continue” button.
  9. Similarly, create a password and click “Continue” button. Click “Continue” button to return to the online application service.
  10. Some of the user’s details will be collected further, provide them in the respective fields and click “Continue” button. Provide email address and click “Send Verification” button.
  11. Open the email inbox and click the verification link sent by the department. If it has been verified successfully, a new page will be opened.
  12. Check the “I Agree” box in that page and click “Continue” button. In the further step, the user will enter into the portal.
  13. There, they will be required to add the service by clicking the “Add a Service” drop-down button. Select “Driver and Vehicle Services” button and click “Add Service” button.
  14. List of services will be available, select an applicable service and proceed to apply for a commercial vehicle registration by following the on screen instructions.
  15. Complete the application as required and submit it by clicking the applicable button. Also, pay the required amount of fees by following the on screen instructions.
  16. After submitting the application, the submitted application and attached documents will be assessed and verified.
  17. Processing of the application and assessment of the submitted information takes place for a time period of six to eight weeks.
  18. Upon completion of the assessment and verification, the applicant will be intimated through phone or email to collect the Registration Certificate.
