ProcedureEdit

  • You need to provide the required documents.
  • You may apply in person at any of the following Government Service Centres or departmental offices listed in the "Office Locations and Contacts" section in this procedure.
  • You can also apply by sending an application form to Vital Statistics.

EligibilityEdit

Who is Entitled to Apply for a Marriage Certificate

  • Either party to the marriage
  • A person with written authorization from a party to the marriage
  • A person with a court order
  • When both parties to the marriage are deceased (proof of death is required)
    • The children or parent of the deceased party;
    • the executor, trustee or administrator of the estate; or
    • a person with written authorization from one of the above

Marriage Certificate - $ 20.00



ValidityEdit

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.
e.g. Birth Certificate Valid Forever

  • Name of Both Parties to the Marriage
  • Sex
  • Birthplace
  • Date and Place of Marriage
  • Your complete mailing address and telephone number and state your relationship to the person named on the certificate if, for any reason, you are not that person.
  • Photocopies of ID's
