1. To apply to help a refugee immigrate through sponsorship (Joint Assistance Program), The join assistance program allows the applicant to sponsor a refugee with special needs. Here is the contact Link
2. The applicant will need to fill out an application package. Here is the link to download the forms Link
3. Before filling out the form the applicant will need to read the guide by clicking on the link under the “Information that might help” section of this page.
4. The applicant will need to attach copies of documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant can decide who they want to sponsor, the applicant will need to contact their Sponsor Agreement Holders (SAH) to get access to the refugee profiles or they can request profiles from the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program.

7. The applicant does not need to pay any fees for this procedure.
8. Submit the completed application form along with the required documents by mailing them to the address mentioned under the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.
9. Once the application has been submitted, it will be forwarded to the relevant authorities for processing. In most cases, the application will be processed within 30 days.
10. If the application is approved, the applicant will receive a letter that includes an IRCC file number and an IRCC contact name and a fax number. Find further information here Link

Eligibility

• The applicant must be part of an organization that is a sponsorship agreement holder and has signed an agreement with the government.
• The organization must be legally incorporated.

Fees

The applicant does not have to pay any fees.

Validity

• The applicant can sponsor a refugee for 24 months.
• In a few cases, the applicant may support the refugee for 34 months.
