ProcedureEdit

Apply Online

  1. The applicant can apply for a birth certificate through the Manitoba Vital Statistics website, using the following Link.
  2. Select type of certificate, in this case, it will be “Birth” and click on “Next”.
  3. Enter birth details such as surname, given name, sex and so on.
  4. After entering all details click on “Next”.
  5. Select the kind of birth certificate as well as how many certificates the applicant wants. (Such as birth certificate with parent’s name or without).
  6. Click on “Next”, the applicant will be prompted to enter more details such as an address, and applicants’ information.
  7. Click on “Submit”, the applicant will be directed to a payment page.
  8. Make the payment and checkout.
  9. The applicant shall receive their certificate by mail within 6 to 8 weeks from the date of submission of the application.


Apply by Mail

  1. Download and fill the application form with relevant details, use the following link to the application form Application.
  2. Send the application form by mail or courier to the following address: Government of Manitoba Vital Statistics Branch 254 Portage Avenue Winnipeg MB R3C 0B6
  3. The applicant will have to pay the fee, the details should be entered in the application form.
  4. The applicant shall receive their birth certificate by mail within 6 to 8 weeks from the submission of the application.

EligibilityEdit

  • The applicant must be at least 13 years old to apply.
  • The person should have been born in Canada and have their birth registered.
  • The applicant should have had their birth registered in Quebec.



FeesEdit

  • The applicant will have to pay a fee of 30$ for each birth certificate ordered.



ValidityEdit

  • A birth certificate is valid forever and does not need to be renewed.
