Procedure

To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.

Apply In-Person for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme,you have to visit the Social welfare department.

3. Get the application form from the Concerned Officer or write it on an A4 sheet.
4. Fill the application form with all the necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned officer in the Social welfare department.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. The urban bodies / village panchayats will forward the application to the respective ULBs/Janpad panchayats with their recommendation.
9. The respective urban bodies /Janpad panchayats have the right to accept/reject the same.
10. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.

Apply Online through e-district:

1. To apply for Widow Pension online through e-district,Click on the following link : Website link
2. After visiting the website, click on the “Citizen” button select your language and login using your Username and Password and click on the “Login” button.
3. If you are a new user click on the “Click Here For New Registration” button.
4. In the next page fill all the required information and login in the website.
5. Select widow pension scheme and fill the application form and upload all the necessary documents.
6. Pay the appropriate fees Take a print of your acknowledgement slip and keep it safe for future reference.
7. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
8. After all the verification they will credit your pension amount each month through your bank account.

Apply through Centres:

1. To Apply for Widow Pension, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the process.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
6. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the CSC centre.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a widow.

Instructions

The Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) under the National Social Assistance Programme provides pension of Rs. 300 per month to widowed women in BPL category and above 40 years of age. After attaining the age of 80 years, the woman is eligible to receive Rs. 500 per month.
