Chhattisgarh - Apply for Sand Lease License or Permit

ProcedureEdit

  • Across the states in India, the respective state government have appointed competent authorities to ensure enforcement of minerals rules and regulations at district level. The competent authorities were the local panchayat authorities / the local administration authorities / the district collector / the district mining department authority as per the state norms.


Apply In-Person:

  1. The sand lease licence or permit (Mining and trading of minor Mineral Sand) is required for quarrying or removal of sands from the beds of the rivers. In Chandigarh, the right for extraction and trading of Sand has been given to Gram Panchayat/Janpad Panchayat/Muncipal Corporations. The applicant shall approach the office of their respective Gram Panchayat/Janpad Panchayat/Muncipal Corporation in whose jurisdiction the area falls as appropriate.
  2. Here, please process the page prompts as appropriate and click on the “Sign In” button to get the file downloaded.
  3. Please visit the office as appropriate and consult with the respective authority. Please follow the guidelines of the authorities as appropriate.
  4. The applicant will be asked to remit the fee or charges for the required amount of sand. Please pay the prescribed amount at the respective counter and obtain the receipt for remittance of amount.
  5. The applicant shall produce the receipt at the respective desk to get the transit pass for the load.
  6. The whole process can be completed within 2 days or it may take few more days as per the schedule or as per the advised time period.
  7. The applicant need to pay Rupees 20/- Cubic meter as royalty.

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant should be a citizen of India.
  • Those who are 18 years and above are eligible to apply.
  • A firm (registered under government of India).
  • The area marked for sand winning should have the clearance from the forest department or public work department or geology department as per the land jurisdiction.



FeesEdit

  • The fees and charges vary across the States in India. Please pay the application fee, processing fee and other charges, as prescribed by the authorities at the time of application.
  • The royalty rate fixed for Sand is Rupees 20/- Cubic meter. The amount of royalty over Sand is directly received by Local Panchayat/Muncipal Corporation.

  • The transit pass obtained is valid till the transport of the sand to the area of storage or use.

  • No extraction of minerals shall be made from any public place or 50 meter from such public places.
  • To prevent illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, the respective state department have laid down strict provisions.

  • No person shall undertake any mining operations in any area, except under and in accordance with the terms and conditions of a mining lease, granted as per the act and the rules made thereunder.

  • The contractor working for the Railway Administration may be allowed to remove sand from the beds of rivers in place where it is used for railway purpose with the respective district collector ‘s clearance.
  • The area under mining license shall be inspected by any Officer authorised by the State Government and the Director of Geology and Mining or the District Collector or the District Forest Officer, as the case may be.
