- You can now order certificates using our new secure on-line electronic ordering system, in addition to ordering by telephone using a Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card.
- We suggest that you utilize our new secure electronic ordering system when making application by credit card. This easy convenient way of ordering your documents on-line provides an immediate application, notice of receipt to you and in most cases, where full and complete information has been provided, will have your request in the hands of Canada Post for delivery the next business day.
- Please note that due to high volume demands on our operators taking the credit card orders by phone, you may find that waits for the next available operator can be lengthy.

Using this Electronic Ordering System to complete an online order, you will be asked to:
- Select the type of service you wish to apply for
- Select the reason you require the certificate(s)
- Identify your relationship to the person named on the event
- Provide details of the event
- Identify the number of certificates required
- Provide your name, mailing address and contact information
- Pay for your order by credit card

- or, by mail by completing and submitting an order form with the fee to Vital Statistics

Need for the DocumentEdit
A death certificate can describe either a document issued by a medical practitioner certifying the deceased state of a person or popularly to a document issued by a person such as a registrar of vital statistics that declares the date, location and cause of a person's death as later entered in an official register of deaths.
