Procedure

Apply Online

1. To apply for a security worker license, the applicant must first complete training programs. Find further information by contacting the security program: Link
2. The applicant will need to fill out an application form, here is the link to the website Link
3. On the left side of the page, click on the “Apply for new license” option.
4. Agree to the terms and conditions and click on “Next”.
5. The applicant will need to answer some questions when prompted, answer them accurately and click on “Next”.
6. The applicant will be directed to the application page, fill in the application form with all the relevant details.
7. Once the applicant has entered all the details, click on “Next”.
8. The applicant will need to upload copies of the documents. Find a list of documents under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
9. Once the documents have been uploaded, click on “Next”.
10. The applicant will need to make a fee payment, find further information under the “Fees” section of this page. After completing the application form, submit it.
11. Once the application form has been approved, the applicant will receive their license by mail within 60 days.

6. Once the application form has been approved, the applicant will receive their license by mail within 60 days.

If the applicant was born in Canada and is a resident, they must provide the following documents:

• Residential address in Canada
• Clear copy of your birth certificate
• Canadian passport
• Secure Certificate of Status

If the applicant was not born in Canada and is a resident, they must provide the following documents:

• Record of Landing Document
• Confirmation of Permanent Residence Document
• Permanent Residence Card, or
• Citizenship Certificate Card
• Work permit, or
• Study Permit

Eligibility

• The applicant must be 19 years of age.
• The applicant must be eligible to work in Canada.
• The applicant must be fluent in English.
• The applicant must not have a criminal record.
• The applicant should not be the subject of a criminal investigation.

Fees

• The applicant will need to pay a fee of 60$ if the validity of the license is 90 days.
• The applicant will need to pay a fee of 120$ if the validity of the license is 1 year.
• The applicant will need to pay a fee of 180$ if the validity of the license is 2 years.
• The applicant will need to pay a fee of 240$ if the validity of the license is 3 years.

Validity

• The applicant can select how long they want the license to be valid.
• Validity ranges from 90 days to 3 years.
