Note:

  • Applications for new grazing leases are not available. An existing grazing lease can be applied for upon its expiry by the existing lessee only. Grazing leases are 20 year tenure.


Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Grazing Leases (GRL) in person, the applicant has to visit the regional office of the Crown Land and use or Provincial Agricultural Land Commission.
  2. Contact information of the Crown Land and use office can be found at the right side of the following Contact link
  3. Address and Contact details of the offices can be found in the following Contact link
  4. The applicant has to visit the office and obtain an Application for replacement Grazing Lease from the respective department.
  5. While visiting the office, the applicants should carry the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to complete the application with required details in the respective fields under each section and submit it to the relevant official with the required documents.
  7. The applicant has to pay the application fees of $262.50 for the approval of lease, as cheque, money order or any other available payment modes.
  8. Then, the submitted application and the attached documents will be assessed and verified.
  9. Upon completion of the assessment and verification, the applicant will be intimated through phone or email to collect the approved Grazing Lease.

EligibilityEdit

  • Individuals and agricultural corporations, that wish to use public land for grazing of livestock, can apply.
  • The applicant must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant 19 years of age or older.
  • The applicant must be engaged in the operation of the farm or ranch.
  • Reference Eligibility

  • The applicant has to pay the application fees of $262.50 for the approval of lease, as cheque, money order or any other available payment modes.

  • Grazing Leases are issued for a maximum of 20 years.
