ProcedureEdit
1.) Obtained an application form at any office of the Driver Registry of the municipal authority of municipalities with delegated powers, or at the town hall of a city.
2.) The application form must not be copied and electronic means of submission cannot be used. The original application form must always be used, the application form must not be folded or wrinkled or deformed in any way. Damaged application forms will be eliminated.
3.) The application form must be filed, in person, at the appropriate office of the municipal authority of a municipality with delegated powers, or at the town hall of a city in the Czech Republic.
4.) The Applicant must present a properly filled-out application form for a Driver's License, along with the Driver's License issued by a foreign state, or the European Communities Driver's License, an identification document, and one colored or black-and-white ID document-type photo in the format of 35x45 mm.
5.) If the applicant fails to adhere to the obligations prescribed, he/she may be sanctioned pursuant to Act no. 200/1990 Coll., the Offence Act, as amended.

EligibilityEdit
The applicant may be only a person who holds a Driver's License issued by a foreign state or a European Communities Driver's License, and who has been granted a long-term or a permanent permission to stay in the Czech Republic, or a person who holds a Driver's License issued by a foreign state or a European Communities Driver License, who has permanent residence in the Czech Republic and lives in the country for more than 185 calendar days in a year.
FeesEdit
The compulsory exchange of a Driver's License issued by a foreign state, pursuant to Sec. 116 (1) and (2) of Act no. 361/2000 Coll., is not subject to an administrative fee.

Need for the DocumentEdit
If you have a foreign driving licence and you wish to drive a motorized vehicle in Czech Republic, you may need to have an international driving permit in addition to a valid licence issued in a foreign country.
But once your granted a long-term or permanent permission to stay in Czech Republic and lives in the country for a certain period, you must obtain a Czech Driving licence.
