Procedure

• Cuban citizens living in Cuba who are interested in obtaining a passport
• must apply in person at the current offices of the Identity Card and
• Population Register of the Ministry of Interior and the Office of
• Proceedings of the MININT in the provinces of Artemisa , Mayabeque and
• the MEIJ.

Required Documents

• Submit 4 photos of size 4 x 4 inches, one of which must be affixed to the return.Photos must be in color, front view, with uncovered hair, no visible ornaments

All Cuban citizens are eligible for a Cuban passport

Fees

100.00 CUC for the passport.

Validity

The Cuban passport lasts for six years, renewable twice every two years.

Instructions

• Those who possess current passport, must also obtain permission of entry or exit,
• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issue Diplomatic passports; and the Ministry of Interior issue Official passports, Current and Marino
• Marino passport be issued to Cubans who make up the crew of maritime vessels on international voyages.
• Current passport is issued to Cuban citizens who need to travel abroad for private affairs, and those who reside permanently abroad

Information which might help

The Government of Cuba does not recognize the US nationality of US citizens who are born in Cuba and may not recognize the US nationality of those born in the US to Cuban parents.

These individuals will be treated solely as Cuban citizens and may be subject to a range of restrictions and obligations, including military service. The Cuban government may require Cuban-American citizens to enter and depart Cuba using a Cuban passport.
