Procedure

1.The applicant starts with identifying the nearest Post office in his / her area. To locate a nearby post office one can visit the website http://www.laposte.ci/bureau.php, and select his / her location and details of the nearby office are displayed;

2.Then go to the identified post office to find out what is required to obtain a rental box;

3.At the post office, the applicant obtains a prescribed subscription and fill a it carefully and accurately;

4.Prepare the documents required, make copies and go with them to the post office. (In this case the applicant is required to carry both original and duplicate copies as the officers at the post office may request to look at the originals;

5.Thereafter, pay annual subscription fees and also make payment for the keys and applicants must ensure that an acknowledgement for the payments made is received from the person who receives the money;

6.After making payments and a receipt is issued, the number of the rental box is then communicated to the applicant;

7.The keys of the rental box are also given to the applicant; and

8.Then the applicant can now communicate his / her rental box number to all his / her correspondents

Validity

Subscription is annually; as long as the holder pays annual subscription fees, he / she continues to use his / her allocated box

2.The owner of a rental box can authorize up to ten people to receive correspondences from his box;

3.Violation of the postal laws is penalized;

4.Applicants should always ensure that annual fees is paid in the prescribed period to avoid penalties;

5.Always keep keys of the box in a safe place;

6.Do not misuse rental box;

7.Always carry both duplicate and original documents when going to apply for a rental box;
